Sales: Working with our customers to find the best solutions for their needs

Each year Damen Shipyards delivers approximately 180 vessels worldwide and completes around 1,500 repair and conversion projects. Our product range is exceptional in its quality and diversity, ranging from tugs, dredgers and barges to naval frigates, yacht support vessels and high-speed specialist workboats.

The Damen sales department divides the world into seven zones, each the responsibility of an Area Manager. These cover Benelux, Northern, Western and Southern Europe, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. The variations between them in terms of the opportunities available and the techniques used to approach each market are significant. Differences in the business cultures, political environments and product requirements all have an impact on how the sales process is conducted.

The Sales Manager role at Damen is high profile. Collectively responsible for growing our customer network and with it the Group’s turnover, they manage the client relationship from contract right through to delivery and beyond. Working closely with our product groups to determine the best solution for the customer is a key part of the role as is, of course, frequent travel.
