The role

Are you a good fit for the Crewing Coordinator position at Damen Services. 
As Crewing Coordinator, you are the point of contact for internal customers for hiring a crew. You are also responsible for the planning, deployment, evaluation, and development of hired crews for both the deployment voyages as well as the sea trials and training sessions. This is in accordance with the requested requirements and regulations.
In addition, the timely provision of the necessary items which enable the crews to perform their work (work clothing, training, PPE). All this is within the set rules and procedures so that the set standards for safety and quality are met.

This is a good fit if you like to do the following during:
Preparation/Start-up:

  • Assessing a request for the crew;
  • Approaching appropriate parties for crew supply;
  • Selecting and scheduling the correct crew.

Execution:

  • Informing and communicating with the internal customers (PMO, Sales, Services) regarding crew selection costs;
  • Managing/monitoring/controlling of crew deployment and in terms of quality;
  • Relationship management with crewing agencies, captains and other crew suppliers.

Handling:

Evaluating crew quality with internal customers and crew suppliers.

Skills & experience

We ask our future Crew Coordinator to come prepared with the following:

You have:

  • MBO+ in Maritime  or similar;
  • Several years of work experience in a similar role;
    Excellent communication skills;
  • An EU passport / valid work permit for the Netherlands;
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language verbally and in writing. 

You are:

  • A pragmatic, persuasive Crewing Coordinator with a solid personality, fitting within a dynamic organization with a hands-on culture;
  • Independent but by nature seeks cooperation;
  • Decisive and at the same time flexible in your approach;
  • Decisive and works methodically;
  • Able to influence, put things into perspective and also knows how to have the patience that is sometimes needed to achieve results;
  • Well able to manage expectations.
