About us

The Standards and Documentation Department consists of three teams: Part Catalog, Standards and Technical Documentation. Together they focus on the availability, promotion and management of ship-related data and documentation to support the end-to end-processes of building a ship, from sales to aftersales.

As a Data Specialist, you will be part of the Part Catalog team. This team manages the database of all parts used worldwide by Engineering, Material Coordination, Purchasing, Production and Services. Primarily, the creation, updating and phasing out of parts is the responsibility of this team. Next to that, different data quality dimensions such as consistency and completeness are monitored. As a team you will work together with colleagues in Ukraine and the Standards and Technical Documentation teams.

The role

As a Data Specialist you'll be acting as a ‘data maintainer’ from the master data management systematics.

Key accountabilities

- Ensuring timely and qualitative processing of the daily questions and requests in the field of part data
- Ensuring the correct, complete and timely registration of the requested part data for the Part Catalog, checking it against the data quality rules and standards used
- Analyze the part database for inconsistencies, uniqueness, validity, completeness and timeliness
- Provide support in establishing, implementing, managing and monitoring data standards

Skills & experience

As a Data Specialist you have a service-oriented and proactive mindset and a structured working method. You have an eye for detail and you notice immediately when incorrect information is delivered. You are a team player who enjoys working together with the teams of the Standards and Documentation department, but you also liaise smoothly with other departments and (external) suppliers. All of this with the goal of working together in mind to ensure that the data used by our stakeholders is up to date and 100% correct at all times.

Background
- MBO4/HBO work and think level
- Minimum of 2 years' experience with master data in ERP (IFS, SAP or similar) and/or information systems such as PIM and MDM.
- Feeling for data and affinity with technical and supply chain data of consumables
