Within Damen, the IT&IM department is a professional provider of high-quality IT solutions and services and the driver for digital transformation. The mission of IT&IM is to create business value by means of technology for Damen Shipyards Group by innovating the (digital) collaboration between colleagues, yards, ships, customers and suppliers.
The role
Within the Damen IT&IM department, we have a team named IT Build. What do they do? They build the IT solutions that support and improve the business of Damen (e.g. better collaboration, more innovation, more productivity, less costs, shorter lead-times, etc). They make sure that these IT solutions meet the requirements of the stakeholders. They do not only deliver the technical IT solution but also help with integration and adoption of the solutions in the business.
In this team, they have different projects for a student to work on, but also a lot of other challenging supporting activities. Below you can read different assignments/activities that give you an insight into what could be your future graduation or internship assignment! Take your time to read and when you’re interested in one of them we can drink a (virtual) cup of coffee together and discuss the assignments.
Key accountabilities
You will support the department in daily activities like:
• Keeping the (team) planning up-to-date;
• Generating productivity reports;
• Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions;
• Facilitate team meetings.
What assignment you will work on can be discussed. Possibilities are:
• Help building integrations between different platforms;
• Help building Power BI reports;
• Research into development tooling (as integration);
• Research into security by design.
Skills & experience
The right student:
• Is a HBO student in ICT, Software Engineering, (Technische) Informatica;
• Has a logical, analytical and creative approach to problems;
• Is available fulltime for 5 to 6 months;
• Has interest in ship manufacturing and related technologies;
• Is proactive in communication;
• Has the ability to work both in a team and alone and to manage your own workload.
