The role
Within the engineering department, a small group of structural analysts is responsible for the structural calculations, from construction plan to more detailed calculations of the ship structures and integrated foundations.
Key accountabilities
- Is added to one or more projects by the Technical Manager and receives the project objectives for him or herself from the Project Manager Engineering.
- Could carry out and plan daily (FEM) calculations on a project basis and thus ensures a good distribution between the different projects.
- Responsible for class approval of the construction
- Guiding colleagues in modeling, calculating, for example, longship strength, local and global constructions
- Consult and coordinate with the team leaders based on the results of the calculations
- Coordinates and controls engineering outsourcing
- View and advise on major (customer) changes that require the relevant expertise
Skills & experience
- Knowledge at the level of Bachelor degree in Shipbuilding.
- At least 7 years of relevant work experience.
- Extensive working knowledge of yacht building, relevant regulations and FEM Analyses.
- Knowledge of and experience in the use of Siemens NX, mathcad, multiframe en SSC software
