About us

Damen is an international shipyard group but at its heart, there is still a family company. We operate in every market where we see an opportunity to improve, innovate or invest and are on the way to become the most sustainable and connected shipbuilder in the world. We have a team of 12000 colleagues spread over 35 shipyards across 5 continents.

The mission of IT&IM is being the driver, in close combination with the Business, for digital transformation and being a professional provider of high-quality IT solutions and services. This will enable Damen to transform from a traditional shipbuilder into a maritime solution provider.  The Damen complete digital platform consists of five platforms, an Enterprise platform to enable Operation Excellence, a Customer Experience platform, an IoT platform, an Eco system platform and a Data & Analytics platform.

A digital platform demands a common strategy with clear definitions of our processes, data, technology, architecture, and governance. This digital platform is based on a cloud first policy.

The Damen Group IT&IM department consists of approximately 160 FTE and provides 24-7 service to 35 business units and 6.000 users.

At this moment we are in the transition from the more traditional “waterfall” to an agile way of working.
