The role

As a Service Coordinator Ship Deliveries, you will be responsible for all deliveries  of newly built vessels delivered from one of our DAMEN Yards to customers worldwide. You supervise the project during execution and are responsible for the quality of the execution. As Service Coordinator Ship Deliveries, you will ensure that the preparation is correct, the crew is briefed, and all necessary materials are present. This includes establishing a budget, preparing both the vessel and the delivery crew for the voyage and ensuring all required materials are  in place. During the delivery project the coordinator will be main point of contact and is responsible for internal and external communications to the various stakeholders. After the vessel is delivered to the client, the service coordinator will be responsible for financial accounting and evaluation of the project.

 

Key accountabilities

  • D&P Phase:
    • Advise and create maritime logistical solutions with various disciplines such as:
      • Heavy Lift (Roro / Lilo / Floflo);
      • Towage;
      • Own keel voyages;
    • Determining the logistics scope for the delivery project;
    • Acting as a knowledge centre and providing input in the field of registration with flag state, class and maritime laws and regulations, incoterms, customs etc.;
    • Issuing and providing budget calculations and scenario specifications for above.
  • Project Delivery Execution Phase:
    • Manage and monitor the project execution and budget;
    • Record and administer the project;
    • Providing operational and financial project reporting;
    • Prepare, instruct and evaluate captain, crew and project team;
    • Coordinate the delivery project;
    • Coordinate the delivery project application of relevant permits, flag-waiver/registration, excemptions etc.;
    • Assigning ships agents;
    • Taking the role of the Designated Person Ashore & Company Security Officer during own keel deliveries.

Skills & experience

  • A completed maritime, technical, logistics education and or job specialist knowledge/experience at Bachelor level;
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience within international maritime and or logistics services;
  • Experience with and knowledge of maritime laws and regulations (e.g. IMO, SOLAS, ISM, ISPS); 
  • Experience with Heavy Lift and Towage transports;
  • Result-oriented, a "Service Coordinator Ship Deliveries" with initiative;
  • Mastery of Dutch and English;
  • Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders;
  • A pragmatic, persuasive Service coordinator Ship deliveries with a solid personality, fitting within a dynamic organization with a hands-on culture;
  • Decisive and at the same time flexible in your approach and works methodically;
  • Able to influence, put things into perspective and also knows how to have the patience that is sometimes needed to achieve results;
  • Willing to travel abroad several times a year;
  • Well able to manage expectations.
