This role is part of Damen Workboats. We develop, design and construct tugs, stationary dredgers, and high-speed crafts. We are working on developments like autonomous sailing, smart and predictive maintenance, hybrid electrical propulsion systems, etc. Our vessels are being built at our yards in Vietnam, China, Turkey and the Netherlands.
The Engineering Support team provides worldwide support to the numerous entities, predominantly in terms of functional support of CAD – ERP and in time for CAD & PDM, ERP and other engineering applications

The role

The department Engineering Support is positioned right between the Engineers and IT. As a Supply Chain and ERP Support Coordinator you are the liaison between these departments. You can see interfaces with other applications and you make sure the users know this too.

When new updates come up you take care of instructing the colleagues.
Of course you also monitor the use of the systems and if things don’t go as planned, you take action. This can be organizing a workshop to get the colleagues up to speed again or maybe a meeting with management to hear what could be the issue.

For this role we are looking for someone who wants to go the extra mile to make sure the Engineers can do their job and that other departments like IT are aware of needs and demands.
You are not afraid to speak up and you don’t mind giving a workshop or training every now and then.

Key accountabilities

• Representing the interests of the business in (IT) projects;
• Translating business requirements into required changes and/or updates to the applications;
• You draw up instructions, procedures and regulations in the field of ERP applications and support the (group) key-users of the ERP applications, ensuring undisturbed and optimal use thereof;
• You liaise and/or coordinate with application vendors and your colleagues at IT&IM in identifying & solving application issues;
• Ensuring a smooth roll-out of new and/or modified applications;
• Monitor & interpret the interfacing (of data) between applications;
• You advise & guide your colleagues during training (often on location) in the field of ERP applications, sometimes executing (part of) the training yourself.

Skills & experience

• A Vocational or Bachelor degree in the supply chain or IT field;
• A broad knowledge and experience with ERP systems, preferably shipbuilding oriented;
• You are good at combining your knowledge of supply chain with IT;
• A good verbal and written command of the English language, Dutch would be appreciated;
• Accuracy, easy communication, efficiency and engagement;
• You are definitely a team player.
